Foreign currencies worth Tk 2.2 cr seized at ZIA

Acting on a tip-off, the custom officials detained Nazrul Islam when he was getting on a flight of Singapore Airlines at around 11:15pm.

They recovered Saudi rials, Qatar rials, UAE dirhams and US dollars equivalent to Tk 2,02,19,300 from the false bottom of his two bags. Some foreign currencies were wrapped with newspapers.

Later, they handed over Nazrul, son of Amin Bepari of Majidpur village in Daudkandi, to Airport Police Station.
