Foskett new Australian envoy to Bangladesh
He will replace Lorraine Barker, who has been High Commissioner since November 2002.
Foskett is expected to take up his assignment in December, says a press release.
He is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and is currently Director, Consular Operation Section, a position he has held since December 2004.
Prior to this he was Director, Ministerial, Cabinet and Parliamentary Services Section (2003-4).
Earlier he served in Australian missions in Myanmar, Indonesia, New Zealand and Port Louis.
Before joining the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1986, Foksett held a various positions in the private sector.
He was born in Melbourne in 1953.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a diploma of Education from Latrobe University.
