Four killed in Noakhali road accidents
At least four people, including one child and one woman, were killed and 11 others injured in separate road accidents at Chatkhil and Begumganj in the district yesterday.
The dead were identified as: Sonia, 4, Rahima Akter, 35, Tipu, 19 and one unidentified transport worker.
The injured were admitted to Chatkhil Upazila Health Complex and Noakhali General Hospital, sources said.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Witnesses and police said the accident occurred when a three-wheeler lost control and fell into a roadside ditch at Parcot Union of Chatkhil upazila, leaving Sonia, Rahima and Tipu dead on the spot and injured four others.
An unidentified man was killed and seven others were injured when a loaded truck skidded off the road and fell into a ditch at Banglabazar of Chowmuhoni-Lakshmipur road of Begumganj upazila.
