Four killed in road accidents
Our Correspondent from Mymensingh adds: A young woman was crushed under the wheels of a speedy bus at Kismat Narail on Dhaka-Haluaghat highway yesterday.
The dead was identified as Fatema Khatum, 35.
Police said the accident took place at 7:00am when a Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Haluaghar crushed Fatema, leaving her dead on the spot.
The body was sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) morgue for autopsy.
Another report from Gazipur adds: A woman was crushed under the wheels of a bus at Chandra on Kaliakoir-Nabinagar road yesterday.
The accident occurred when a Nabinagar-bound bus hit Rashida Begum, 40, when she was crossing the road, leaving her dead on the spot.
Police recovered sent the body to Gazipur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
Our Correspondent from Sirajganj reports: Two people were killed and four others injured when two trucks collided head on at Panchilia Bazar on the Dhaka-Northern region highway in Sirajganj early yesterday.
The injured were taken to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital and local clinic.
Police and witnesses said the accident took place at around 3:30am when a Dhaka-bound banana-laden truck collided head on with another truck coming from opposite direction, leaving two people dead on the spot and four others injured.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy.
A case was filed with Solonga police station in this connection.
