Police at the directive of the home ministry have started reinvestigating a case filed with Mollahat Police Station in Bagerhat against Siddiqul Islam alias Bangla Bhai and 11 others.

A Bagerhat court on November 8 granted the petition seeking permission to reinvestigate the case.

The case was filed on August 17, 2002 against the accused for attacking the house of Awami League leader Tarapada Poddar in Gaola village in Mollahat on August 15.
