Fulfil demand for children's access to information

Shishu Prakash, a news agency of Mass line Media Centre (MMC) for children, held the meeting with the teachers and students of mass communication and journalism (MCJ) department of Dhaka University (DU) at RC Majumder auditorium.

DU Vice-chancellor Prof SMA Faiz attended the meeting as chief guest while Chairman of MCJ department Prof Golam Rahman was in the chair.

Prof Faiz said it is very encouraging that the child journalists of Shishu Prakash are working on child rights as reporting on the issue has assumed great significance in the present context of the country.

Prof Robayet Ferdous, Lecturer Fahmidul Haque, SM Shamim Reza and MMC Executive Director Kamrul Hasan Manju also spoke.

In a keynote paper, Nina Shamsun Nahar of Shishu Prakash presented some information on violation of child rights and activities.

Shishu Prakash has already built up 646 child journalists across the country who are working on child rights issues in their areas.
