Girl accidentally strangled while playing with scarf

The dead was identified as Tumpa Akhter, a student of class two of Khokon Government Primary School at Gandaria.

At around 9:00pm, Tumpa was playing with her brother with a scarf tied to two poles beside their Jurain residence when she accidentally got choked. Seeing her standing immobile with the scarf wrapped around the neck, a neighbour shouted aloud and called her mother, a garment factory worker.

She was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 11:00pm.
