Globeleq Ibrahim General Hospital foundation laid
The two-story Globeleq Ibrahim General Hospital is a joint project of Dab and Globeleq and is scheduled to be built by the end of 2007.
The hospital will be brought under tele-medicine programme through which its patients would get services of reputed medical specialists of the country, said Dab officials.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. There will also be arrangements to transfer the critical patients of the hospital to other specialised hospitals of Dab, they added.
At the foundation stone laying ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of Globeleq Torbjorn Caesar reiterated Globeleq's commitment to social welfare and said, 'We are committed to being positively engaged in the communities where we operate'.
Secretary General of Dab Prof A K Azad Khan said that the hospital is being established as a part of Dab's mission to provide healthcare for the people in Bangladesh.
Executive Vice President of Globeleq Asia Arun Sen, Vice President of Dab M Moyeedul Islam and Managing Director of Globeleq Bangladesh Operations J Edward Barndt were also present at the programme.
