Gold worth Tk 35 lakh looted from jeweller's

Employees of New Dhakeshwari Jewellers found all the jewellery and cash missing when they entered the shop in the morning. They saw a hole in the ceiling through which the burglars entered the shop on Friday night.

Dhakeshwari Jewellery shop is housed on the ground floor of a multi-storied residential hotel named Raj.

Police said two persons who called themselves Abul Sarder and Arif Sarder boarded a room right above the jewellery shop on April 17. They have been making a hole on the first floor discreetly since then and on Friday night they finally got hold of their prized catch, police said.

The two boarders left the hotel at around 7.00am yesterday.

A case has been filed with Kotowali police station.

Police arrested Hotel Raj Manager Swadesh Chandra, Assistant Manager Bishnu Chandra and employee Dulal for quizzing.
