Goods worth Tk 10 lakh looted from city house
A gang of miscreants swooped on the residents of a house leaving them injured and looted their valuables in the city yesterday.
The injured are Belayet Hossen, owner of the house, Jahangir Hossen Badal, manager, Abdul Malek, guard, and Shyamol Chandra and Monu, domestic helps.
Of them, Belayet is now receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. He told the reporters at DMCH that at around 1:00pm a gang of hoodlums led by his former business partner Iqbal Kabir Chowdhury Paban raided his house used as godown of his business in Dhanmondi.
"They beat my men and looted valuables worth around Tk 10 lakh," he said.
"Being informed when I rushed to the spot and tried to stop the loaded trucks that was carrying my goods, Paban hit my head with his pistol, Belayet added.
Dhanmondi Police Station said a case has been filed in this regard.
