Govt arrests militants to please donors

Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) held street-meeting and mass contact in the city yesterday in support of its hartal call on September 18.

Addressing the meeting CPB President Monjurul Ahsan Khan said the government is playing hide and seek game by arresting low-level leaders and activists of Islami militants.

He said the government is supporting communal forces to stay in power and arresting militants to please the donors,

Monjurul demanded ban on communal politics.

CPB leaders Ahsan Habib Lablu, Abdul Jabbar, Sajedul Haq Rubel, Ruhul Amin, Sadekur Rahman Shamim, Jolly Talukder, and Noor Uddin Al Masud also addressed the meeting.

In support of the hartal on 18 September, the CPB will also hold street meetings and mass communication programs today in various places in the city.
