Leader of the opposition in parliament Sheikh Hasina expressed deep condolence at the death of Lutfunnesa, mother of the daily Prothom Alo editor Matiur Rahman.
Sheikh Hasina, also Awami League president, in a condolence message prayed for the salvation of the departed soul of Matiur's mother and expressed her deep sympathy for the bereaved family members.
AL General Secretary Abdul Jalil MP in a similar condolence message also expressed deep shock at the demise of Matiur's mother and prayed for the salvation of the departed soul.
