HC order stayed
Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Sunday stayed the operation of a High Court verdict that declared illegal the policy on seniority of parliament secretariat officials.
Judge Mohammad Tafazzul Islam passed the order after the hearing on a writ petition filed by Kibria Majumdar. Barrister Amir-Ul Islam moved for the petitioner.
Earlier, a High Court bench of Justice Mohammad Abdul Matin and Justice Mohammad Mamunur Rashid cancelled the rule as Ruhul Amin, president of Parliamentary Employee Welfare Association, filed a petition challenging the policy on February 9.
