Hearing on bail petition of Bulu tomorrow

Judge (in charge) Mohammad Shamsul Haq of the Fifth Special Tribunal for Prevention of Women and Children Repression fixed tomorrow for the hearing on the issue.

Bulu, a director of private satellite television Boishakhi, was arrested from his Banani residence on May 30 after his wife Hosne Ara Naznin and one Abdus Salam filed two separate cases against him with Gulshan Police Station.

Later, an attempted murder case was also filed against him with Motijheel Police Station.

Earlier on June 8, a Dhaka court rejected Bulu's bail in connection with the attempted murder case.

Bulu fell sick on June 6 when he was standing in the dock in a Dhaka court during hearing of his remand prayer in the same case. Family members alleged that he fell sick due to torture in remand.

After his treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital (BSMMU), he was again shifted to the Dhaka Central Jail on June 7.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Motijheel Police Station Abdul Motaleb was suspended on June 7 apparently for torturing Bulu.
