Heroin worth Tk 50 lakh recovered, 3 arrested

On information, police raided a house owned by Amzad Hossain at midnight and recovered 500gms of heroin from Motahar Hossain, a tenant of the house.

Police arrested Motahar Hossain, son of Mozammel Hossain of Gaibandha, his wife Farzana Akhtar Sathi and his son Selim Hossain and has sent them to court showing them arrested under section 54.

"The word 'heroin' was found inscribed on the packet of the recovered powder and we have sent the packet for chemical tests," said Sub Inspector (SI) AB Siddiqui of Ashulia Police Station, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, adding "a case will be filed on receipt of the test's report."
