High-rise bldg fined for pilfering water in Chittagong
A mobile court here yesterday fined a high-rise commercial building for pilfering water through setting an illegal pump.
The court also fined the owner of the building Tk one lakh for stealing around thousand litres of Wasa water through the illegal pump from Wasa line and bypassing the meters everyday.
Sources said the court in a drive unearthed the illegal connection at Taher Chamber, a multi-storied building at city's Agrabad area that housed several private offices.

The court disconnected the water supply line and also seized the pump and some sanitary materials.
The owners of the building were paying only Tk 2000 as Wasa bill each month for the huge quantity of water it received.
