Housewife beaten to death for dowry

The victim was identified as Amena Aktar, 18, wife of Dulal Dhali.

Family sources said Dulal often tortured Amena for more and more dowry money since their marriage few years ago although Amena's father gave him Tk 70,000 in dowry.

During a quarrel on the day, Dulal beat her mercilessly up, leaving her dead on the spot, they said.

Receiving information, police rushed to the spot and sent the body to hospital morgue for autopsy.

Dulal went into hiding soon after the incident. A murder case has been filed.
