The arrestee was identified as Mohammad Pintu.

Baby Begum, field worker of Care Bangladesh, was found dead inside her house at West Hazipara in the city on Friday.

Police arrested Pintu on Friday night from his Shegun Baghica house in this connection.

Pintu, however, told the police that Baby Begum was not his wife and also denied his involvement in the killing.

Meanwhile, Baby's sister Mahmuda Begum filed a murder case yesterday with Ramna Police Station accusing Pintu of mudering her sister.

Mahmuda mentioned in the first information report (FIR) that Baby's husband Pintu and his thugs might have killed Baby after rape.

Mahmuda also mentioned that Pintu married Baby around seven years ago and used to grab the money Baby earned. Pintu took away Tk 5000 from Baby few days ago, she said.
