'India wants to resolve problems thru' dialogue'

She also said India wants to resolve all the prevailing problems with its neighbours, including Bangladesh and Pakistan, through dialogue.

Sikri was delivering a speech on 'Friendship, dialogue and economic cooperation' at Dhaka University (DU). The Peace and Conflict Studies Department of DU organised the discussion to mark its 7th founding anniversary.

The Indian high commissioner said India would continue its socio-economic cooperation for the development of Bangladesh.

The existing friendly relations and economic cooperation between the two countries will play an important role in the overall development of both the countries, she observed.

Chaired by DU Vice-chancellor Prof SMA Faiz, the discussion was also addressed by University Grants Commission Chairman Prof Dr M Asaduzzaman, DU Pro-VC Prof AFM Yusuf Haider, Dean of Social Science Faculty Prof Dr Harun-or-Rashid and founding chairman of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies Prof Dalem Chandra Barman.
