Indian High Commission in Dhaka dismissed a report of Odhikar, an NGO, and reports carried out by a number of national dailies and termed the reports 'prejudiced' and 'motivated'.

Referring to a September 9 incident about "killing of four Bangladeshis in Agartala", the Indian High Commission in a press release yesterday said the incident occurred centering an "attempted robbery by three Bangladeshi nationals inside Indian territory in collusion with an Indian partner".

On further clarification, the commission said a flag meeting between BSF and BDR was held on September 10 when the BSF strongly refuted the charges of kidnapping and killing Bangladeshi nationals.

During a follow-up meeting between the BSF and BDR on September 12 at BOP ACP, Bangladesh police received the bodies of Mozamal Haque Bhuiyan and Abdul Razzak Bhuiya from Indian police in the presence of doctors from India and Bangladesh.

The High Commission in its press release said that three Bangladeshis and an Indian were beaten to death by agitated mob while those four were fleeing after committing a serious crime.
