No one will be rewarded heaven for killing people in the name of Islam nor those who are sacrificing their lives for such terrorist activities will be treated as martyrs, said Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandary yesterday.

Addressing a press conference, he said Islam cannot be established by killing innocent people.

The press conference was organised by Bangladesh Tariqat Federation (BTF) at the National Press Club in connection with the holding of a grand rally at Paltan Maidan in the city on November 30.

Nazibul Bashar blamed the Jamaat-e-Islami for the rise of religious fanatics, countrywide series bomb blasts on August 17 and the killing of judges.

He said the Jamaat, an anti-liberation force, is leading the country to the verge of destruction.

Those, who were against liberation war, are also against peers and dargahs, he added.

BTF Chairman Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandary said his organisation is holding its first grand rally to protest the rise of terrorism and form a secular Bangladesh uniting people who believe in spirituality and the spirit of the liberation war.

"Our religious duty is to resist the terrorists and we should unite those who believe in peers and dargahs to eliminate terrorism," he added.

Nazibul Bashar said they will lunch campaign soon to uphold the real message of Islam which is seriously tarnished by militant activities.

BTF Advisor Alhaj Syed Golam Manuim Hossaini Chisti, Shahjada Syed Golam Mosabbir Hossaini Chisti, Alhaj Syed Habibul Bashar Maizvandary, and Alhaj Moulana Syed Gaziul Haque Chandpuri were present at the press conference.
