JCD man held for firing gunshot on DU campus

Sources said Wased Ahmed Zahir, a student of Arabic Department, fired a gunshot at about 1:00am at midnight during a row with a rival faction of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) over occupation of a seat in a room at Zia Hall of the University.

Students said the two JCD factions, one led by General Secretary Belal and another by Senior Vice President Mustak, chased each other during the row.

Later police raided the hall, arrested Zahir and recovered 12 iron rods, two hockey sticks and one hammer from the dormitory.
