JCD men assault principle, teachers

The JCD activists went berserk as the college authorities have published the waiting list of admission seekers without consulting them, sources said.

The waiting list was put up on the notice board at 10:00am yesterday.

Two hours later, some 50 JCD workers attacked the botany department office and vandalised furniture and office equipment.

They also went to the principal's office and hurled abusive words at him. They assaulted some teachers who rushed to the aid of the principal.

The group fled when a team of Rapid Action Battalion appeared on the scene.

The JCD cadres demanded that 200 seats, out of a total of 600, be allocated for admission seekers chosen by them, the sources said.

On July 22, the JCD cadres had resorted to violence on the college campus to force the authorities to stop admission process.
