JCD's Grassroots Representative Meets begin on March 21

The meetings aim at enhancing interpersonal relations among the leaders at grassroots level and creating creative leadership among them, sources said.

A total of 26,500 representatives are likely to take part in the meetings.

Of them, the highest number of 7986 representatives would take part at Dhaka divisional meeting, while 5313 representatives at Chittagong division, 6104 representatives at Rajshahi division, 3261 representatives at Khulna division, 1761 representatives at Sylhet division and 2075 representatives will take part at Barisal divisional meeting.

The programme was announced by JCD General Secretary Shafiul Bari Babu at a press conference at Dhaka University yesterday.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Tarique Rahman will inaugurate all the meetings while BNP Secretary General and Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Abdul Mannan Bhuiyan will be present at the Dhaka meeting as chief guest.

Dhaka divisional meeting will be held at Keraniganj Chunkutia Girls High School ground on March 21, Khulna divisional meeting at Bagerhat Khan Jahan Ali College ground on March 23, Rajshahi divisional meeting at Bogra Sultanganj High School on April 1, Chittagong divisional meeting at Cox's Bazar Stadium on April 4, and Barisal divisional meeting at Syed Hatem Ali College ground on April 9.

The venue for Sylhet divisional meeting on March 28 is yet to be fixed.

Deputy Minister for Land Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar Dulu, BNP Student Affairs Adviser Fazlul Haque Milon, BNP Legislator Nasir Uddin Ahmed Pintu, former vice-president of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Amanullah Aman, former Ducsu assistant general secretary Nazimuddin Ahmed, JCD President Azizul Bari Helal and Senior Vice-president Sultan Salauddin Tuku were present at the press conference.
