JP demands withdrawal of cases against Ershad by Ramadan
They said BNB-led four-party alliance government has failed to keep the prices of essentials under control, ensure security and curb corruption.
The JP organised the rally at Muktangon in the city to protest against corruption, politicisation and terrorism of the ruling alliance in their four-year rule.
Addressing the rally, JP Secretary General ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader said democracy and independence are not safe today because of the misrule of the government.
He also said the people no longer want to see the alliance government in power as its misrule made their lives miserable.
JP City President Abu Hossain Babla, who presided over the rally, said the JP will come to power in the upcoming election because the ruling party has miserably failed to fulfil its election promises.
JP Women Affairs Secretary Nure Hasna Lili Chowdhury MP said the ruling government increased the fuel price six times in their four-year rule and the transportation fair is now out of common people's reach.
JP Leaders Prof Delwar Hossain Khan, ASM Alam and Khandakar Abu Mohammad Mukul also spoke.
The party also brought out a procession that paraded some city streets.
