JS body for recovering occupied forestland

The meeting held at the Sangsad Bhaban reviewed the progress of implementation of decisions of the previous meeting.

It elaborately discussed the reports placed on the use of leaded gasoline and fuel, and environment pollution by cement factories.

A three-member sub-committee has been formed to take a decision about the illegal timber seized at Rangamati, Khagrachhari and Bandarban.

Senior officials of the Environment and Forest Ministry were present at the meeting.

Committee members Environment and Forest Minister Tariqul Islam, Kalim Uddin Ahmed, Qazi Salimul Haque, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Shahidul Islam attended the meeting with its chairman Nazim Uddin Alam presiding.

State Minister for Environment and Forest Jafrul Islam Chowdhury attended the meeting on special invitation.
