JU students protest indecent behaviour of teacher

The students also submitted a three-point demand that include punishment to the teacher for indecent behavior, exempting him from being course teacher of the academic session and examining answer scripts.

They also vowed to enforce tougher programmes if the demands are not met immediately.

The students came up with the demands after the teacher, a course tutor of the students, allegedly chided the students by the name of their parents yesterday.

The teacher became furious, as the students requested him to curtail the syllabus of the course, to allow them to attend examinations immediately to reduce session jam.

All the teachers of the department agreed with the students' initiative to reduce session jam while that teacher behaved badly with the students instead, sources said.

Teachers of the department will sit today to discuss the issue, sources added.

The teacher denied making any comments to the journalists while Chairman Prof Zinnatunnesa R M M Khuda Khandaker was not available to comment on the issue.
