Kitchen market gutted in city

Originating from an electrical short circuit at the underground kitchen market of Kushal Centre at Sector No. 3 of Uttara at about 2:30pm, the fire immediately engulfed the shops.

The fire fighters extinguished the fire after a struggle for more than an hour at 4:25pm.

The fire damaged huge kitchen materials and gutted six hardware and stationary shops.

Fire Service and Civil Defence officials estimated the loss at about Tk 10.17 lakh in the fire.
