Dhaka City Fish and Kitchen Market Small Traders' Association called a daylong strike in the capital today to realise their five-point demand.

The demands include renovation of capital's kitchen-markets, ensuring hygienic environment in the markets, keep the markets free from violence and toll collectors, and eviction of illegal kitchen-markets from Dhaka City.

The Association will also hold a rally at Muktangon in the city after the strike.

The organisation President Anwar Hossain and General Secretary Moniruzzaman Monir urged all traders of the capital's kitchen market to make the strike a success and join the rally to press home their demands.
