Kushtia Jubo Dal leader on the run

Rabbi, also a first class contractor, said the BNP MP from Kushtia-1, Reza Ahmed Bacchu Molla, also filed several 'false' cases against his wife Nurunnahar Begum, an assistant accountant of BRDB in Kushtia.

The cadres of Bacchu Molla also prevented his wife from going to her office, he said at a press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity auditorium.

"For the last few months, I have been hiding in the capital leaving my family members in Kushtia in fear of attacks by the armed cadres of the MP who are hunting for me as I protested his malpractices over tenders in Kushtia," said Rabbi, organising secretary of Aria Union Jubo Dal in Daulatpur.

He also alleged that the MP has unleashed a reign of terror in Kushtia. As a result, around three lakh people of the area, even the dedicated BNP men, have been suffering a lot, he added.

The lawmaker also threatens those who raise voice against his misdeeds, Rabbi said.

He urged the government to take steps to redress wrongs done to him and his family members by the lawmaker.
