Lawyers protest inauguration of court bldg by Nizami today

The District and Sessions Judge Mafizul Islam inaugurated the court building through holding a milad mahfil on July 11.

Sammilita Ainjibi Samannaya Parishad Pabna organised the protest.

The lawyers brought out a procession and formed a human chain in front of the Pabna Judge's Court.

Later, speakers at a rally said the lawyers will boycott the inaugural programme of Nizami today. They urged the authorities concerned to stop the programme. Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku presided over the meeting. Advocate Amzad Hossain, Advocate Golam Hasnain, Advocate A K Azad Khan spoke at the rally.

The speakers said they will announce tougher agitation if Nizami inaugurates the court building.

Judge Md Mofizul Islam said July 11 milad was an unofficial programme and today's inauguration is an official one.

Overall tension remains in Pabna court area after this incident.
