Left-wing student bodies call strike at DU on Nov 30

Progressive Students' Alliance, a platform of left-leaning student organisations, has called a student strike at Dhaka University on November 30 to protest the university authorities' decision to introduce night shift in Bangla department.

Addressing a press conference at Madhu's Canteen yesterday, the student leaders also announced a series of programmes demanding immediate withdrawal of the decision.

The programmes include protest procession on the campus today, joint solidarity rally of teachers and students at Battala on Sunday at 11:00am and sit-in in front of Bangla department on November 29.

DU Chhatra Union President Manobendra Dev, DU Chhatra Federation President Ariful Islam and DU Samajtantrik Chhatra Front President Janardan Dutta addressed the press conference.
