Make best use of knowledge, talents for welfare of country

Thirty-four students of class ten and five students of class 12 received certificates at the ceremony.

Speakers at the ceremony called on the students to make best use of their knowledge and talents for the welfare and development of the country.

They also lauded the contribution of Chittagong Grammar School, established in 1992, to the development of education in the port city.

The school arranges various extra-curricular activities such as drama, music, dance, debate and creative writing to foster talents of the students, they said.

Many students, after completion of their study, joined responsible posts or pursued higher studies at home and abroad and earned glory for the country with their outstanding performances, they added.

Speaking as the chief guest, Mahfuz Anam said a school is a place not only for acquiring knowledge but also for developing all good qualities of mind and character.

He also called on the students to serve the humanity and to work for the welfare of the country.

Mahin Khan, head of the school, thanked all for participating in the ceremony and sought their cooperation in the development of the school.

Anisur Rahman Khan and Enamul Haque spoke at the ceremony on behalf of the guardians while Rehnuma Ahsan on behalf of the outgoing students.

Later, a cultural function was also held where the students of class VIII, IX and XI performed classical, tribal and patriotic dance numbers.
