Make Bijoy Sarani corner grave of Motiur: FNB

The FNB, in a statement, also expressed solidarity with the demand of the family of martyred war hero and the people.

With due regard to the fact that Birshreshtha Motiur belonged to the Air Force, it is logical that the last resting abode of our national hero should be at Bijoy Sarani corner which is under the management of the Cantonment Board and, at the same time, easily accessible to the people of all walks of life, the statement said.

With deep distress and despair, we have observed the deviation from earlier decision to lay the last remains of Birshreshtha Motiur at Bijoy Sarani to the Intellectuals Martyers' Graveyard at Mirpur. In fact, the foundation stone of his grave was laid at Bijoy Sarani by the then Liberation War Affairs Minister on 31 March 2003.

It is the earnest desire of Birshreshtha Motiur's family and the people that his last resting place should be at Bijoy Sarani and nowhere else.
