Prime Minister Khaleda Zia yesterday said Malaysia can relocate its rubber and light-engineering industries in Bangladesh and invest in joint venture projects in its pharmaceutical sector.

She said this when outgoing Malaysian High Commissioner in Dhaka Ashaary Bin Sani made a farewell call on the prime minister at her office.

Bangladesh and Malaysia have close relations and people of the two countries have common faiths, Khaleda said adding, "Bangladesh's people are happy seeing progress and advancements of Malaysia."

Ashaary Sani thanked the prime minister for her government's cooperation in discharging his duties during his three-year tenure in Bangladesh.

Recalling her meeting with her Malaysian counterpart in Doha, Khaleda renewed her invitation to Ahamd Badawi to visit Bangladesh.
