Man hurls acid on daughter, wife in Rangpur

Both the mother and daughter are now undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College and Hospital.

Victim Shamima Ferdousi Shilpi,35, told The Daily Star that her husband Zillur Rahman threw acid over them out of anger following her complaint with a Rangpur court against him for his second marriage without her permission six months ago.

"Zillur threw acid on us when were returning from a relative's house at night," Shamima said.

Condition of Rumpa,3, was not so serious as that of Shilpi, a doctor at the hospital said.
