Gursharan Kaur, wife of Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, yesterday visited Gurudwara Nanak Shahee, a Sikh temple located on the Dhaka University campus.

Gursharan, accompanied by officials of the Indian High Commission, arrived at the temple at 4:25pm. She joined a special prayer session and listened to religious songs during her 40-minute stay.

A tight security blanket was thrown around the entire campus during her visit to the temple. Policemen, Rapid Action Battalion members and plainclothes police were deployed under the coordination of Special Security Force (SSF).
