Mild tremor jolts parts of country
A mild tremor jolted parts of the country last night, but there was no report of damage or casualty.
The tremor was experienced in Pabna, Faridpur, Dhaka and elsewhere in the country.
The met office in Dhaka could not say the intensity of the tremor.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. In Pabna, tremor was felt at 8:45pm,which lasted 12 seconds. Many people came out of their houses and raised Azan, seeking divine blessing.
In Faridpur, tremor jolted Madhukhali. Upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) told the news agency over phone that tremor shook the area at 8:42 pm.
Resident students of Dhaka University Jagannath Hall came out of their dormitory. They took shelter in open space.
