Mobile phone shop employee robbed of Tk 2.7 lakh

The victim, Md Liton, 30, an employee of Nahiyan Mobile Zone at fourth floor of Motalib Plaza, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) with wounds in his left hand and leg.

Liton said four muggers riding on two motorcycles intercepted him in front of the Jamuna Press at Central Road when he was returning to the shop by a rickshaw after withdrawing Tk 2,70,500 from the Standard Chartered Bank, Dhanmondi branch, at about 3:00pm.

Witnesses said the muggers tried to snatch a packet wrapped with paper from Liton. As he tried to resist the muggers, they fired on him twice and sped away.
