Mosharraf calls for creating awareness against thalassaemia

"Thalassaemia is an inherent disease which needs a huge cost for treatment" the health minister said, adding: "If we want to reduce the rate of attack with thalassaemia, marriages among the bearers of the disease have to be stopped."

He said this while addressing a discussion jointly organised by Bangladesh Thalassaemia Samity (BTS) and Medicine Club Marking Thalassaemia Day at the National Press Club in the city.
