'My Beautiful Bangladesh' unveiled

Nadeem Qadir, journalist and advisory editor of Focus Bangla, a photo agency, has written the book that tells story of growing Bangladesh.

The book portrays positive features of the country in different contexts.

US Charge D' Affairs to Bangladesh Judith Chammas unveiled the book at the National Press Club where club President Reazuddin Ahmed, Photo Journalist Jewel Samad, Prof Amena Mohsin of Dhaka University, Associated Press Chief Farid Hossain and Dhaka Reporters' Unity President Shafiqul Karim also spoke.

Judith Chammas praised the book saying it would be a lovely gift for anyone who would love to know about Bangladesh.

"This is the first book that conveys silent voices of people behind the scene. Politics of silence have come forward in it wonderfully," Prof Amena Mohsin said, adding the book is a concoction of culture, religion and social aspects of the country.

When a reader goes through the book, he or she could see Bangladesh through the author's lucid writing and illustrated pictures, said Reazuddin Ahmed.

Edited by Focus Bangla, the book costs Tk 450. Ten percent of the sale proceeds would be donated to Acid Survivors' Foundation.
