National Youth Day today

This year's theme for the day is: "Youths will build the country whatever may be the stress."

President Iajuddin Ahmed will inaugurate the day's programme at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy through awarding 16 self-employed youths - male and female - with "National Youth Award 2005".

At the function, representatives from 10 youth organisations will also receive the Youth Welfare Fund Grant 2004-05 from the President.

An exhibition of various products by the self-reliant youths will also be held on the Shilpakala Academy premises marking the day.

Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television will broadcast special programmes while the national dailies will publish supplements highlighting the significance of the day.

President Iajuddin and Prime Minister Khaleda Zia gave separate messages wishing success of the programs marking the day.
