NDI delegation arrives Sept 8

The delegation members are Thomas Daschle, former Majority Leader and Minority Leader of the US Senate, Mike Moore, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and former Director General of the World Trade Organisation, and Mu Sochua, former Minister of Women's and Veteran's Affairs and Member of Parliament in Cambodia.

The delegation will be here to demonstrate the interest and support of the international community for a peaceful and democratic election process in Bangladesh, to provide an impartial report on the environment surrounding the upcoming elections and the state of electoral preparation, said an NDI press release yesterday.

The delegation hopes to meet a number of people involved in election-related activities, and wishes to hold a meeting with editors of the media.
