Next general election uncertain

'The future of the nation and next general election is now at stake as BNP led four-party alliance government has made a false voter list and did not involve Jatiya Party in the process of reform dialogue,' said Ershad while addressing a grand rally at the Muktangan in the city yesterday.

Blaming the ruling BNP-Jamaat government, he also said people are now frustrated as the alliance government failed to meet their basic needs.

JP organised the rally protesting price hike of essentials, crisis of electricity, water, unrest in garment factories and harassment of newsmen across the country by ruling BNP cadres.

Syed Abu Hossain Babla presided over the rally. Party Secretary General Ruhul Amin Howlader, presidium members Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, MA Sattar, MA Hannan, and JP leaders Prof Delwar Hossain Khan, Golam Kibria Tipu, Sheikh Showkat Hossain Nilu, SMM Alam and ATM Golam Mawla also spoke.
