NSI official arrested
A National Security Intelligence (NSI) official was arrested along with a physician for harassing the owner of an IT firm at Dhanmondi last night.
The arrestees are Shah Alam, deputy assistant director of NSI, and Sayem Manowar, a physician of the Cardiology Department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital.
The NSI official along with the physician went to Techno Access at Dhanmondi around 7:00pm and charged the firm with using an illegal frequency.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. On suspicion, the employees of the firm informed local police who took them into their custody.
Police later said they learnt about their identities but the NSI did not assign Alam to charge the firm of any wrongdoing.
Milan Majumdar, managing director of Techno Access, filed a fraud case against the two with Dhanmondi Police Station last night.
