He along with his wife went to Kolkata for his treatment on June 16.

Author of 'Kamalalaya Kolkata' and 'Krishna Sholoi', Mizanur Rahman had been editing his magazine since 1983. The special issues of the magazine featuring birds, trees and environment, mathematics, poet Shamsur Rahman and Vidyasagar are widely acclaimed.

Before publishing the quarterly magazine, he also edited and published a children's magazine 'Jhankar' and an entertainment magazine 'Rupchhaya'.

Born on February 19 in 1931, Mizanur Rahman was a student of the first batch of Dhaka Art College (presently Fine Arts Institute).

He is survived by his wife, three sons, one daughter and two grandchildren.

His body was brought to Dhaka from Kolkata last night. The body will be kept at his residence at House # 94, Road # 9/A, Dhanmondi from 11:00am to 12:00 noon today. His namaz-e-janaza will be held at a mosque at Road # 12/A, Dhanmondi after Zohr prayers.

Later, he will be buried at Banani Graveyard.
