One awarded life-term

The convict was identified as Suruj Zaman, 40, of Dewanpur in Chandpur district.

The court of Metropolitan Sessions Judge AKM Anowar Hossain gave the verdict after hearing nine witnesses.

According to the sources, a special team of the Department of Narcotics Control held Suruj with 126 grams of heroin from Railway Staff Colony at the city's Kadamtali area on December 8, 2000.

Charge was framed against the accused in the case on June 26 last year.
