One to die, four get life term

The convict with death is Mohammad Rubel while the lifers are Lutfor Bhuiyan, Suman, Kajal and kamal.

Of them, Lutfor is in custody while the rest four are absconding since the incident.

Judge Shahed Noor Uddin of the Speedy Trial Tribunal-1 gave the verdict in a packed courtroom.

The court acquitted Falzu and Lavlu as the charges brought against them were not proved.

Earlier, the prosecution and the defence completed their arguments and the court recorded statements of 11 prosecution witnesses.

According to the prosecution, over a previous enmity a group of criminals led by Lutfor killed the victim at Purba Adalatpara in Tangail at about 6:15 pm on April 30 last year.

Following the incident, victim's father filed a murder case against Lutfor and six others the same day.
