One gets 25 yrs in arms case in Patuakhali

Special Tribunal Judge M Majnul Ahsan handed down the verdict on M Wasim, 22, of West Bharipasha village of Baufal Upazila.

Wasim, a guard, was arrested on May 11 last year. Later acting on his statement, the police seized one single-barrel gun along with its five bullets, four bullets of Chinese rifle, four bullets of .22 bore revolver and sharp weapons from a garden at Doba village.

The convict was sentenced to 13 years' imprisonment under one section of the Arms Act and 14 years' imprisonment under another section.
