One held with 7 lakh Indian rupees

Aftar Ali, 45, of village Rarai under the bordering Jakiganj upazila was on his way to Sylhet city in a passenger bus.

Acting on a tip-off, the BDR men of Amolshid Border out post searched the bus on Sylhet Jakiganj road and seized seven lakh Indian rupees and 97,000 Bangladesh Taka hidden in his body.

Later, the border guards handed over Aftar to the Jakiganj police.

Aftar is suspected to be a member of a money smuggling gang, the BDR said.
